Case Study - Pitch Your Business

Viclink – for the Victoria Entrepreneur Bootcamp

About: The Victoria Entrepreneur Bootcamp is an opportunity for students at Victoria University of Wellington to take their ideas and test them to see if they are viable as businesses. The purpose of the Bootcamp is not just to grow businesses, but to grow entrepreneurs who learn essential skills while working on their own startups.

What we were asked to do: Provide the a programme of pitch training for each Bootcamp team sufficient to enable them to deliver a polished pitch at the 2016 Victoria Entrepreneur Bootcamp Showcase.

Outcome: Each team had one on one coaching to polish their pitch, working on both the slide deck and their presentation skills, as well as an opportunity to present a practice pitch to the Vodafone toastmasters club. The resulting pitches were well crafted, professional, and effective. As a direct result of the quality of pitches – partners of the programme suggested and supported an event to get the startups in front of a larger audience at Te Papa. Comment from Viclink Programme Manager Emily Sullivan.
